- Watch Marlon Riggs' excellent documentary on the history of African American representation in US pop culture: Ethnic Notions. You can also watch Riggs' film, Color Adjustment, which focuses specifically on African American representation on television (it's a bit dated in terms of the examples, but is nonetheless an important document). Both films can be streamed online via PSU Library.
